Job Description

Start Date: 02/11/2020 The Lighthouse School, Margateprovides a blended academic and therapeutic education for SEN children. Thelast grading from Ofsted was Good and the school continues to rapidly developnew approaches and opportunities to support students. We seek a full-time KS3/4 SENGeneral Subjects teacher, to teach a range of subjects and activities with anemphasis on Literacy and Numeracy, at our vocational centre. The Vocational centre is one ofthree Lighthouse school sites. Students here enjoy a curriculum that offersAnimal care, Catering, Music, ICT, Art and Technology alongside English andMathematics from entry level to GCSE. The successful candidate must becompetent in delivering English and Mathematics at these levels. The Annual salary is based onNational Teachers Main Pay Scale 1- 6 + SEN Allowance. The successful candidate will beresponsible for teaching a small group of up to 6 students, designing andimplementing learning programmes for each student, establishing coherentacademic plans, recording achievement, and liaising with other teachers to planand organise teaching. Providing evidence of studentprogress is an important element of the role. The Lighthouse school is committedto training and will support graduates to gain QTS. Our school has:
