Job Description

Morestarts is proud to be working with a well-established client based in Shirebrook, who are a leading provider of design and manufacture services for the UK rail industry.We are looking for skilled Welders/Platers to join their team. Due to the recent increase in workload, please only apply if you are time-served and have previous experience working with heavy duty fabrications.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To read engineering drawings for parts to be Fabricated/Welded
  • To fabricate, assemble and weld components to the correct quality levels and set timescales
  • To perform Welding/Plating tasks
  • To ensure correct marking up of components parts
  • To build fabricated assemblies as instructed
  • Ability to assemble and Weld using jigs
  • To ensure full compliance with works documentation, health and safety procedures, and requirements at all times
  • To maintain a high level of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times
Candidate Requirements:
  • MIG welder with past coding experience (will undergo welder qualification/coding at start of employment).
  • TIG welding experience advantage but not essential
  • Overhead crane experience/qualification advantageous.
  • Abrasive wheel experience/qualification advantageous.
  • Understanding of Welding Standards: BS EN 1090-1, 3834-2, 15085-2
Salary and Shifts: £12-15ph depending on level of experienceMonday to Thursday 07:15 - 16:00 / Fridays 07:15 -15:0033 days holiday (inc. Bank Holidays)Overtime available.
