I am supporting Nottingham County Council with new contact support worker rolesWe would require the staff to work across all of our centres which are based in North Worksop Central Mansfield South Gedling Beeston Newark Hawtonville We are wanting one worker in each area but you may need to cover across the countyThe job is venue based 9:00-6:00Here are the job spec detailsWorking as a member of the Contact Support Service, the post-holder is responsible for facilitating formal contact between children, young people aged 0-17 and their families. This will include arranging, supervising, and recording Contact sessions. The post-holderwill be required to record information accurately and identify and report any safeguarding concerns. The post-holder may also occasionally be required to attend court to contribute evidence as part of care proceedings.The post holder will be required to work from different venues across the County and therefore must possess a full driving license and a suitable vehicle .This is £11.81 an hour and temp on goingRequirementsGCSE passes at grade C or above in English and maths.QCF – level 3 (previously NVQ Level 3) Social Care or Child Care or an equivalent qualification.-applicants may provide evidence of ‘working towards’ the qualification.A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues and an ability to provideAn understanding of how to record information accurately and produce reports, as required.An understanding of team work and how to work as part of a team and contribute to team meetings.A good understanding of child development and attachment theories.An awareness of what constitutes good parenting and an ability to demonstrate a good role model to parents/young people in this respect.An understanding of a range of behaviour management strategies.An awareness and adherence to the strict code of confidentiality involved in all aspects of the work of the County Council.Applicants should possess a minimum of one year’s experience of working with children and/or young people.Please contact me further details
