Job Description

S&you are pleased to be supporting Street Games, one of the UKs leading "sport for development" charities as they seek to find Trustees for their Board. Who Street Games are looking forTrustees are volunteer board members who set the strategic direction, provide advice and ensure the charitys work continues to advance its strategic objectives.Previous board/trustee experience is not necessary. We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. StreetGames has a target of gender parity on our Board and we would therefore particularly welcome applications from women. We are committed to increasingrepresentation and broader diversity of individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds and individuals with disabilities, as well diversity of thought and lived experience.Additionally, we would like to add representation from groups that we serve as a charity e.g. individuals from or who grew up in low-income families.Our new Trustees will ideally have skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • PR and Media

  • Sport Improving Lives

Reimbursable expenses (travel and accommodation bookings may also be made on your behalf)A Trustee would normally serve an initial term of 4 years with the potential to be re- appointed for a further 4 years. The expected time commitment is 4 Board meetings per year held in person in London, Manchester or Cardiff on rotation (virtual attendanceis available) and 3 virtual meetings, one full day strategy away day and some committee work plus a review meeting with the Chair and appropriate preparation time to fully participate in these meetings.Application ProcessPlease refer to the Candidate Information Pack which can be found on the Street Games website and navigate to the vacancies pageStreetGames are happy to accept either a cover letter or a maximum 2-minute video in addition to a comprehensive CV.Prospective candidates are also welcome to have an informal conversation with a StreetGames trustee, if you would like to take up this opportunity or have any other questions please contact Emma Rodell, Governance & Compliance Manager ().The deadline for receipt of applications shall be 9am 11th March 2024.
