Job Description

TECHNICAL SERVICES ENGINEERMANCHESTER£25,000IMMEDIATE START + BENEFITS PACKAGEProactive Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly successful company based in Manchester who, due to growth, are seeking a Technical Services Engineer to join their team. As the Technical Services Engineer, you will be reporting directlyto the Head of Technical Support, providing telecoms support to customers.The successful candidate will be assisting all customers with remote support, installation and training. Strong knowledge of Avaya cloud office / IP office 500v2 server addition is essential for this position.If you are seeking the opportunity to join an award winning company who have an aggressive growth plan for the next couple of years, then send your CV in for immediate consideration!As a Technical Services Engineer for our client your duties will include;

  • Handling day-to-day calls, emails and other communications from users requesting desktop and home support
  • Assisting customers remotely, providing support, installation and training
  • Remote problem solving and resolving tickets via traces, logs, and testing
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems across a range of software applications
  • Manage, prioritise, and complete all customer support requests to ensure all issues are resolved in an efficient manner
  • Assist with the production of technical support documentation and training materials for internal / customer use
  • Take a proactive approach to help improve department processes
The successful candidate will require;
  • A proactive individual who has experience as a Desktop Support Technician, Technical Support Engineer, IT Engineer, 1st Line Support or similar
  • Strong knowledge of Avaya cloud office / IP office 500v2 server addition is essential for this position
  • Knowledge of SIP Trunks, PBX and hosted systems (both install/maintenance support) is essential
  • General cabling infrastructure (data cabling and old school wiring)
  • Basic level of IT infrastructure i.e routers, switches, endpoints, WAPs, servers
  • Knowledge of IP networking (IP addresses, DNS servers, FQDNs, port forwarding)
