Are you a Sports Coach looking for more variety in your work & an opportunity to learn new skillsOr are you a sporty Learning Mentor looking for a new challenge where you can utilise your sports abilitiesWe are looking for a Sports Assistant / Learning Mentor to start a full time role in September at a secondary alternative provision in Manchester.About the role:

• Sports Assistant / Learning Mentor for a Secondary Alternative Provision in the Manchester area.
• Full time hours 8:30am-3:30pm each day.
• Starting September 2022 on a long term basis. Could turn permanent for the right person.
• Pay up to £85/day.
• Your role will be to provide support in PE lessons, lead intervention sessions based on sports and also take reward and enrichment sessions based on sports too.
• While sports are a large element of the role they are also looking for someone who has the ability to help manage behaviour in the corridors and class as well as provide learning support as and when required.
• They can display challenging behaviour at times so the new Sports Assistant / Learning Mentor must have excellent behaviour management skills, be resilient and be able to persevere through difficult situations.
• You will need to build strong relationships with pupils quickly while being able to set clear boundaries using a consistent, fair, honest & engaging approach.

About the school:

• Secondary Alternative Education Provision (Pupil Referral Unit - PRU) in Manchester.
• Pupils are all aged 11-16 with EHCPs for Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs, SEMH, as well as associated needs such as Autism, ADHD and SpLD (Dyslexia).
• Broad curriculum based on childrens needs and interests including vocational learning that includes the delivery of ASDAN and BTEC.
• Lessons take place in small groups of no more than 8 pupils.
• Strong links with other schools, parents and outside agencies.
