Job Description

This is a great opportunity to work within a dynamic team with emerging technologies and taking forward Software Testing with feedback from a global client audience and Internal Product Owners.This is a young product requiring continuous development which will require you to work on multiple projects as it continues to grow.One thing you can rely on is an exciting working environment and a genuine opportunity to develop your career quickly around like minded people.This role is going to be heavily focussed on our GUI that allows client customisation of logical routing for components and data. You will ideally have a basic understanding of code, notably: order of operations and conditional statements. You may be ableto read and understand API log messages, though you wont necessarily be writing API tests.The most appropriate experience for this role may be in alarm/safety software, hardware/firmware testing experience and any comms experience.Some tech areas you MAY be familiar with but not essential as follows:-

  • FBD and/or FBP
  • Linda
  • Node-RED
  • Apache NiFi
  • BMDFM
  • CSP
  • Dataflow
  • MapReduce
  • Pipeline or CI
  • XProc
  • Yahoo Pipes
Required Technical Competencies:
  • Manual UI Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • Experience and knowledge of different types of testing
  • Experience in manual API Testing
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Experience in debugging and logs
  • Knowledge of Test Strategies
  • Knowledge of Test Design and Architecture
  • Basic knowledge of any programming language
Technical Desirables
  • Knowledge of the Testing Pyramid (or similar)
  • Postman Experience (or similar)
  • Database Experience

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to:
o Represent the test team in meetingso Adequately report defects across a range of communication styles o Document information concisely as it becomes available o Effectively able to disagree with reasono Confidently and appropriately challenge where appropriate o Comfortable expressing opinions, regardless of subjectivity o Create clear but condensed test cases o Create accessible test plans that are comprehensive to the wider company

Responsibilities
  • Manual Regression testing
  • Testing tickets
  • Managing bugs throughout their lifecycles
  • Continuous improvement of test documentation and documenting this within the test team space
  • Identifying potential improvements across processes, product areas and teams
  • Keeping other teams up to date with pending, ongoing or completed testing
  • Following testing best practises
  • Collaborating with a variety of teams and managers
  • Attending agile ceremonies and providing test discipline
  • Attending team meetings to provide feedback and updates
  • Communicating and collaborating frequently with product, test and dev
  • Upskilling product and dev in test discipline where appropriate
