Software Engineer / Frontend Developers / Full Stack DevelopersLocation: Remote / Manchester (Can work from home but travel into Manchester 1 day per week after lockdown)Salary: up to £40,000 Depending on ExperiencePermanent & Fixed Term OpportunitiesAt Well our purpose is to help people feel better. We are the third largest Pharmacy chain in the UK and over the past few years we have invested heavily in technology to give our patients more choice in how they get their medicine and make our business more efficient, so our front line colleagues can spend more time with patients. We know there’s much more we can do and we want to grow our Digital team to help us deliver more quickly. The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Software Engineer, Frontend Developers and Full Stack Developers to join our team of around 10 Engineers (internal and partners). We want someone who has experience of Software Engineering - ideally developing Digital Products - but that also has experience leading and inspiring teams. Working in Healthcare is fantastic as you can make a real different to people’s lives, but like the NHS there’s some constraints. There are legacy systems to work with and regulation and patient safety to consider - but that part of the challenge - getting some older, legacy systems to work with new technology to develop brilliant solutions for our customers.Unlike working in a technology company, you will work directly with colleagues in pharmacies and across the business to really understand how the business works. You will work as part of a team leading the development of solutions for our patients and colleagues and we are looking for someone who is passionate about making things better in Pharmacy. It’s important that we find someone who wants to work collaboratively with colleagues in Customer Experience, Operations, Customer Services, IT and most importantly our pharmacies - to listens to their challenges and comes up with ways that technology can help. We also need someone who appreciates that the products we deliver also need to deliver commercial returns and deliver value, to both customers and the business. We want to find the right person to join our team, and in return we are flexible about work location and working hours. We need you to be willing to visit our Manchester office weekly and Digital Pharmacy in Stoke-on-Trent sometimes, but other than that you can work from home if you want to. We are a very collaborative culture, we try to make it fun at work, and we recognise that happy, motivated colleagues deliver great results. We don’t need perfection - if you think you fit most of the criteria, think you can learn what you don’t know, and you’d like to work in Pharmacy then please get in touch.Key Accountabilities: You will work with the team on complex projects and have technical delivery experience - ideally including newer technologies such as AWS Serverless and Machine Learning. It’s important you can demonstrate you have worked in Agile team, but are also comfortable using other methodologies where we might be working with suppliers working on legacy platforms. Diversity is important in building a great team so we don’t want to be too prescriptive about what we think we are looking for, but as a guide we think we need:
