Job Description

Senior Software Engineer£45,000 - £60,000 - PermanentManchesterA Global Law Firm with a strong track record of innovation has recently launched a global consultancy to assist clients with their legal operations and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Manchester.The Senior Software Engineer position provides technical solutions, primarily software-based, for internal and external client needs in accordance with the best industry practices and within agreed-to time and budget requirements.Duties:

  • Ensuring work/code is documented and architecture/design principles are followed
  • Have a thorough understanding and experience with design principles and concepts
  • Determine hardware and infrastructure needed to develop and support applications
  • Ensure valid infrastructure and any custom application security
  • Communicate needs, obstacles and expectations effectively to supervisors
  • Balance multiple projects
  • Initiate and participate in process improvement dialogues
  • Mentor lower levels of Software Engineers
  • Work effectively with other team members
    • Person Specifics:
  • Fundamental understanding of web application environments and development tools
  • Understanding of OOP - Object-Orient Programming
  • A solid understanding of relational databases
  • 4-6 years experience on Microsoft development languages and patterns - e.g. NET 3.x+
  • 4-6 years experience with MS SQL Server Development
  • 4-6 years experience with client-side scripting
  • 4-6 years experience in enterprise software development life cycle
  • Experience with Angular.js
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC 3+, ASP.NET Web Forms, Entity Framework 5+
  • Bachelors degree in computer science
  • Effective communication
  • Project management skills
