Job Description

Macmillan Davies are delighted to be the retained partner for a rapid growth business operating in the smart energy sector as they commence their search for a Senior Reward Manager to join the People team based in the North-West of England.The CompanyIt is a very exciting time to join this newly formed Group. Brought about by acquisition of 3 established businesses, there are no plans whatsoever to stand still. Currently employing over 1,600 people across the UK, the organisation prides itself on buildingfor the future by accelerating the development of a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable utilities sector.The business appointed its first Chief People Officer this year. Now, with a robust people strategy in place, the newly created Senior Reward Manager will strengthen the people function by taking responsibility for Reward, Performance and Recognition acrossthe organisation.About the RoleWorking as part of the leadership team of the function, the Senior Reward Manager will lead the design and implementation of the reward, recognition and performance management approach to enable the delivery of the people strategy and business outcomes.Working with the Chief People Officer to contribute to the formulation of the People Strategy the role will ask you to:

  • Take accountability for the translation of the Reward and recognition framework into programmes of work
  • Define and manage the companys approach to and use of short- and long-term incentives
  • Preparation and analysis required for updates and proposals to the Remuneration Committee to support Board level decision making
  • Provide oversight of the companys approach to job evaluation
  • Ensure regular benchmarking and market related pay research is undertaken when necessary to enable the company to remain competitive and an employer of choice.
  • Responsible for managing the delivery of the annual pay review, bonus, and incentive plans, ensuring that modelling scenarios are aligned to strategic aims, deliver good return on investment and fall in line with budget
  • Ensure the company has a best practice performance management framework that aligns to expected behaviours and recognition and the companys strategic objectives.
  • Lead the annual performance management process, working with HRBPs to ensure it is effectively communicated and managers have the requisite capability
  • Delivery and interpretation of Gender Pay Gap Reporting and ensure compliance in areas such as equal pay
  • Work closely with the Head of EX and Programme to ensure the packages of work consider stakeholder feedback and support the aims and outcomes of the Employee Experience program
About YouThe Senior Reward Manager will be joining the business at a critical time in its growth. Therefore, there is real importance placed on this position to ensure the organisation remain attractive as an employer. You will be a commercial and analytical thinkerwho is able to link all reward and performance practices to business objectives. Your previous experience will have given you exposure to board level. You will be motivated by operating as an integral part of a team who are creative, forward thinking and passionatein creating a culture to enable successful growth.Your expertise will involve:
  • Experience of creating a clear vision for reward, recognition and performance linked to people strategy objectives
  • Demonstrable HR delivery and strategic experience in a senior reward role
  • Proven experience and track record in a HR role where you have had ownership, autonomy and accountability for some delivery through others in the people function
  • Experience of managing HR projects / initiatives / interventions, from conception to implementation, against scope, timescales, cost and quality
  • Awareness and understanding of job evaluation methodologies
  • Experience of developing board level reports and papers tailoring format and language to support linked proposals
