Job Description

Senior Assistant Merchandiser - up to £28,000 plus benefits as well as fantastic career development opportunitiesThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful and thriving retail business as a Senior Assistant Merchandiser. The company is expanding rapidly as a result of its success to date and if you would like the opportunity to bring your commercialityand eye for numbers to a place where you can make your mark and develop your career then this could be the right opportunity for you.This role is ideal for an experienced Assistant Merchandiser who is looking for their next step-up, or someone currently working at Senior Assistant Merchandiser level.The role

  • Working alongside the Merchandiser, you will ensure that all product is in the right stores in order to achieve departmental sales, markdown, stock, intake and profit plans
  • You will substitute for the Merchandiser in their absence.
  • Alongside the Merchandiser and Buyer you will review previous season and capture lessons learned
  • Alongside the Merchandiser and Buyer you will create the strategy for the department and present
  • With guidance from the Merchandiser you will review the SMT plan at Buyer Group/Season annually and apply plan at Category/Season level to meet the Buyer Group/Season plan
  • Quarterly plan at Category/Season level with the Merchandiser and Buyer to submit a plan on the system which reflects the best possible mix of product to deliver the KPIs
  • Ensure that the Buy matches the plan Buy
  • Take ownership of the quarterly range plan at store level in conjunction with the Merchandiser and Buyer
  • Attend selection meetings with the Merchandiser, Buyer and suppliers
  • Maintaining Line Cards on core styles and taking appropriate actions
  • Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identifying issues and the course of action in preparation for the weekly trading meetings
  • Propose and agree actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line level.
  • Monthly - Capture all agreed actions in the monthly forecast reviews for relevant categories or departments owned
  • Attend monthly WSSI meetings with your Merchandiser and Merchandise Manager to gain approval: Incorporating
    • Forecasting any sales variance to plan
    • Creation of OTBs
    • Management of commitments - On time delivery, rebuys cancellations
    • Markdown proposals
  • Manage the range plan in Season reflecting any changes
  • Ownership of the performance of non-organic stores
  • Manage Intake at category and line level in conjunction with the team
  • Responsibility for concept stores
About youYou will have experience as either an Assistant Merchandiser or Senior Assistant Merchandiser who is experienced within the retail industry.
