Job Description

About the RoleQuantity SurveyorWant to work for a global multi-technical solutions provider who puts their employees development and progression at the front of our business plans Look no further. This opportunity will provide a competitive salary and excellent benefits!You will be educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction-related subject and have demonstrable commercial experience. You will join our team in Manchester and free parking will be available. Willingness to travel willbe required.Responsibility for managing all costs relating to innovative, multi-disciplined building engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures, to minimise costs and enhance value for money, while ensuring the required standards and qualityare maintained.You will have an awareness of the commercial market with the ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in engineering construction industry.Key Accountabilities

  • Provide effective commercial and contractual support to operations on several major projects in accordance with SPIE procedures
  • assist in establishing clients requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • Support the operational team in the commercial processes to ensure achievement of turnover and profit targets, profitable contracts, and sound cash flow performance
  • Manage risk to improve cost predictability
  • Ensure all work at every stage of a project is completed on time, within budget and to the correct standard
  • Maximise project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting
  • Drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Drive SPIE Commercial Process within the team
Key Skills
  • Educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction-related subject
  • Demonstrable commercial experience in a similar contracting environment
  • Have knowledge of administering NEC and JCT forms of contract
  • Mechanical & Electrical quantity surveying experience in a building services background (Desirable)
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • IT Literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Able to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in engineering construction industry
  • Sound understanding of the implications of Health and Safety regulations.
