Job Description

Project Manager We are pleased to be working with our client to recruit a Project Manager who will take full ownership of customer driven projects and to deliver a first-class customer service in the provision and alteration of major electrical work.The role

  • Maintain and support the standards of Health and Safety as agreed withing the business ensuring a safe working environment for our staff, customers and contractors. The promotion of a good health and safety culture will be expected throughout the projectlifecycle, leading by example.
  • Budgetary and commercial management of allocated projects.
  • Successful and timely delivery of allocated projects.
  • Ensuring that allocated projects are planned and executed in compliance with all relevant national, regulatory and corporate legislation, policies, requirements and codes of practice.
  • To be the focal point of contact for the Customer throughout the life cycle of their project
  • Ensure schedule management is robustly managed, capturing the customer requirements and ensuring schedule management is controlled and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that a clearly defined scope, for each project, is confirmed that is both technically compliant and provides value for money for our customer.
  • Ensure a commercially astute approach is adopted on each project, with a clear focus on providing value for money for our customer and enhancing profitability.
  • Manage risk in line with corporate policies and controls, a proactive approach rather than reactive is expected.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all aspects of the project as required by both internal and external stakeholders.
Attend project and site meetings as required for the safe and efficient execution of the project.
  • Develop and maintain all required project documentation and reports, ensuring reports are issued in a timely manner.
  • To lead the company project team and ensure all aspects of the project are appropriately resourced and tasks are allocated and fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the safe delivery of all connection projects by regular audit, near miss reporting and engagement with relevant stakeholders.
  • To develop and support our continuous improvement agenda & change initiatives in line with our monthly customer feedback and known customer requirements.
  • To support the Programme Manager (Delivery), develop and maintain strong business stream reporting and champion change process implementation.
  • To support the Programme Manager (Delivery) and Energy Solutions Customer Engagement Manager in the establishment and further development of new business opportunities with both existing and potential customers.
About you
  • Knowledge of technical and regulatory codes of practice
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Commercial astuteness and budget control management
  • Commercial forecasting and revenue reporting
  • Change management
  • Risk and issue management
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written is essential, including the ability to produce clear and concise project reports (utilising the full suite of MS Office software).
  • Experience of managing projects within the Utility sector is essential, experience of managing electrical distribution projects at 33kV and/or 132kV is an advantage
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of projects is an advantage
  • Experience of customer facing operational / project delivery is essential
  • A track record of improving customer satisfaction is an advantage
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Formal Project Management qualifications (APM, PRINCE 2, PMI) would be an advantage
  • Degree / Graduate level desirable
  • HNC level (or significant experience) minimum requirement
