Job Description

Project EngineerManchesterWe are currently working with a blue-chip global manufacturing organisation based in Manchester who are looking to recruit a Project Engineer.The CompanyOur client is a global well-known brand within global manufacturing. They are still growing the UK operations and the business has a fantastic track record of progressing talent in the organisation into senior roles and developing careers.The Role

  • Contributes to the preparation of project design & construction budgets and project schedules.
  • Leads development of the project scope based on project management practices, strategies and procedures and capital effectiveness best practices
  • Coordinates pricing, estimating and scoping for project design & construction.
  • Accountable for all key design documents such as plot plan, lay out, piping isometrics, P&IDs etc
  • Ensure proper constructability of the project
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests and aerial photographs to plan and design project
  • Directs and supervises other third party engineers
  • Works with and manages engineering firms across a small number of engineering disciplines
  • Ensures that most effective technical solution is applied for the projects in his/her responsibility.
  • Ensures that best practices are applied for all projects in his/her responsibility
  • Ensures that front end loading and execution phases of projects are according to PDP process.
  • Organising and contribution to Hazan/Hazop/Swift
  • Elaborate RASCI matrix, safety plan
  • Elaborate/contribute to technical specification for equipments involved
  • Ensure liaison with SME/COE/FSQR for embedding process maintenance Best Practices into the project
  • Issuing project reports
  • Raising Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for all project purchases.
  • Ensuring Purchase Orders are receipted.
  • Preliminary bid analysis (to ensure technical compliance).
  • Sourcing equipment suppliers for ad-hoc equipment.
  • Regularly measures and monitors project progress to identify variances from the plan and make needed corrections
  • Ensures the implementation of health and safety corporate policy of all contractor employees involved in the project(s) under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensures the project control methods for time and budget followed closely
  • Leads the execution of the projects
  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies and designs for project
  • Instructs draftspersons/technicians
  • Ensures successful completion and closure of all technical aspects of the projects
  • Ensures that the project delivered safely on time, on budget and operable.
The Person
  • 3 years experience in a project engineering role
  • Experience managing Capex projects
  • Strong experience on AutoCAD
  • Mechanical biased
  • Desirable - Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering
