Job Description

Job Title - Programme Development ManagerLocation - Work from home/York or Manchester Rates - £439.37 LTD or £383.62 PAYEIn Scope of IR35 About the role / project:Working on the Northern Powerhouse Rail programme in the Regional Asset Management Team.What you will do:

  • Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britains railway. From Crossrail - Europes largest civil engineering project - to investment in world-class stations and major programmes of electrification, were involved in some of the most results-oriented and diverse ventures that this country has ever seen.
  • System Operator provides coordination of the activities required to optimise use of the railway for the benefit of all who use it. We craft tomorrows railway to meet the long-term needs of the rail industry especially our freight and passenger customers.
  • This is a new role in a growing team. The team you will be joining is currently working on a number of projects on behalf of Transport for the North and the Department for Transport looking at identifying solutions that will increase the number of trains we can run in the future as well as reducing travel times between key cities in the north of England and together are looking to transform travel opportunities over the next thirty years. You will support the early development/feasibility of potential infrastructure interventions that will deliver the ground-breaking growth.
  • We need you to work alongside Network Rail System Operator, NPR team and will be embedded in the Regions concerned to integrate the new rail lines into the existing railway. You will help us align how we manage asset management and investment to ensure we look after the whole railway in a safe, cohesive way. At times, youll be challenged but working with so many partners will help you to grow your career and improve the railway for millions of passengers every year.
  • Network rail experience

  • Good knowledge of rail infrastructure, operations and asset management engineering
  • Understanding of and experience in maintaining and manipulating asset information preferably on a digital platform
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships, influence and connect with people of all levels including presentations and briefings
  • Ability to write coherently, combining analysis of technical information into a concise output that can be easily understood by clients and partners
  • Understanding of programme management methodologies, principles and tools
