Job Description

Pre-Construction Engineer – £40,000 to £45,000 – ManchesterThe RoleSPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for a Pre-Construction Engineer to review each enquiry and determine what resources are required to return each bid.The successful candidate will help SPIE maintain its leading status within the industry by consistently delivering a pricing structure and contracting standard compliance across all key areas exceeding business performance targets.The key responsibilities of a Pre-Construction Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Tracking enquiries within the business unit as to their current progress, submittal date, client decision date and start on site date.
  • Reviewing new enquiries to determine what resources will need to be appointed to achieve return date with required tender proposal documentation.
  • Setting up review meetings with required personnel.
  • The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Pre-Construction Engineer:
  • Qualified to at least HNC/D level or have suitable experience in Building Services Engineering.
  • Experienced in managing activities across several projects.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with NEC & JCT Contracts.
  • Fully conversant with CDM regulations and able to operate at senior level in fulfilling the role of principal contractor.
  • Experience within food and pharmaceutical environment. (Desirable)
