Constant growth over recent years has made the Distrelec Group a leading online and catalogue distributor for electronics, automation and measurement technology as well as for IT and accessories.Our Swiss heritage has taught us to love what we do, love our people and......love chocolate (maybe not totally relevant, but it’s still important)Your responsibility will be to develop and drive paid digital strategies and manage the implementation of paid marketing activities across paid search, affiliates, retargeting and social media. In addition to being an expert in your field, you manage digital budgets, oversee the implementation of tactics that generate efficient traffic and revenue, and acquire new customers whilst weaving your channels into the total customer journey nurturing and adjusting your paid activities depending on customer types.You will also provide leadership support to the functional specialists across the various digital paid channels ensuring they are equipped, trained and driving the best results for the business. This hands-on role requires daily performance monitoring and optimisation to ensure business KPIs are met. You also work closely with the brand marketing team to ensure creative content is fit for purpose and being utilised across the various digital channels.

  • Be on top of the commercial performance of the business and to respond quickly to market changes to maximise performance, sales and profitability across the paid online channel
  • Lead the paid media team to ensure commercial performance is monitored and appropriate action taken by the right specialists to address issues.
  • Utilise all external search capabilities to efficiently drive relevant and targeted traffic to Distrelec’s international proposition (PPC, Affiliates, Re-Targeting etc.).
  • Manage the Paid Search programme to effectively implement paid search advertising in support of the customer segmentation model objectives and the businesses strategic intent.
  • Youll need to do some of this:
  • Own and drive the commercial, online KPI’s (Visits, AOV, Conversion Rate, Sales, CM3) across all Distrelec owned websites.
  • Assess and lead the implementation of the commercial/ sales/marketing opportunities to maximise online revenue and profitability.
  • Produce and present frequent online sales budgets and forecasts that feed into the wider Digital fiscal governance structure.
  • Explore, recommend, and test appropriate use of new digital acquisition techniques.
  • You never take performance for granted, you would rather think in terms of uplift and incremental sales
  • Manage senior stakeholders to authorise incremental marketing/campaign spend through clear ROI justifications.
  • Own the definition of localised target keyword strategies through closely working with the product and category teams, ensuring the ability to meet short and long term goals
  • Deliver guidance to achieve an optimal mix of paid vs natural acquisition in the short, mid and long terms and ensure the broader business fully understands and supports the approach.
  • Closely manage agency relationships and conduct frequent appraisals of their performance, migrating to alternate vendors or inhouse management where appropriate.
  • Define a working model to meet short term campaign and trading needs of the business whilst operating with a long term focus on managing your campaigns on a CLV basis.
  • We need you to have:
  • Educated to degree level in marketing / marketing analytics or at least 5 years’ experience
  • C1 Effective Operational Proficiency or advanced : ENGLISH.Advanced proficiency in German would be an advantage
  • Wed love you to have:
  • Demonstrable success in growing sales and profitability in a digitally biased business
  • Thorough and Extensive knowledge of multi-channel marketing and online trading techniques
  • Commercially astute with a proven track record of growing online sales in a large multi-channel organisation ideally in B2B.
  • Expert working knowledge of SEO techniques and best practice.
  • Expert, in-depth and international understanding of PPC, specifically Google but also other market leading engines.
  • Proven ability to manage large budgets and to be able to confidently communicate with the finance community in terms of commercial performance and investments appraisal.
  • Ability to motivate, manage and challenge teams and external agencies with niche skillsets in a competitive marketplace.
  • An up-to-date understanding of eCommerce trends and the latest online sales tactics/best practice.
