Job Description

Payroll Manager Permanent Salary: £35,000 - £40,000pa plus a discretionary 20% bonus (target based)Location: Middleton A fast-growing organisation are seeking a permanent Payroll Manager to join their team, paying a salary od £35,000pa - £40,000pa. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing for the business, you will be managing a small team, ensuring confidentiality,accuracy and efficiency at all times.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end to end payroll for approximately 1500 employees
  • Manual calculations relating to bonuses, overtime, tax, NI and other compensations
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax returns (p60’s and p11ds), ensuring these are submitted in a timely and accurate manner
  • Dealing with payroll related queries
  • Recruit, mentor and train payroll staff
  • Distribute workload accordingly throughout the time, ensuring the team have the required tools and support to carry out their roles to the best of their ability
  • Administration and maintenance of records relating to benefits schemes within the business
  • Producing the annual gender pay gap report
  • Providing support to the HR team
  • Any other duties as required relating to the payroll function
The ideal candidate will have the following skills & experience
  • Extensive payroll experience
  • Ideally CIPP qualified or working towards
  • Experience working on payroll software
  • A deep understanding of payroll legislation
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Organised and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent excel knowledge, including pivot tables and V lookups
  • The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team
