You will engage with relevant stakeholders across the Biffa network to achieve project goals and ensurewe deliver a first class customer experience in line with pre-defined business KPIs. The Operational Support Manager is a very hands on position and can have you stepping in to support as a Traffic Dispatcher one day, to then training new staff or supportingthe roll out of a new project. Flexibility is key as the role does involve daily travel and occasions where shift patterns may need to change (the role is Monday to Friday).Why its an opportunity not to be wasted.

  • The Ops Support Manager will support Depots that require additional support to ensure an increase in operational productivity and an improved quality of service is provided.
  • The role will provide additional resource to our Depot Teams and as part of your day, you may need to step in as Traffic Dispatcher or Team Senior to cover staff absence or training.
  • You will manage projects and work with key stakeholders across the organisation as defined by the parameters of the project. Projects may include, business acquisitions, re-routes and Operational re-structures.
  • The Ops Support Manager will work closely with the operational teams and increase management capability through knowledge sharing, training and support.
  • The role will work within cross-divisional teams to provide integrated waste solutions and ensure we are using best practice.
  • The Ops Support Manager works closely with project teams/IT teams to continuously improve the operational systems, processes and policies to support regional growth and performance.
  • The Operations Support Manager will have a great opportunity to develop through on the job learning/training and as part of the role, will have the opportunity to gain qualifications such as a CPC and CoTC to name a few.
RequirementsHeres what we require:
  • Experience of working in a position of similar responsibility ideally in Services or Logistics Industry.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of delivering continuous improvement within an Operational or Service environment.
  • Local geographical knowledge ideal.
  • An understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical service would be a benefit.
  • An understanding of Profit and Loss data is desirable.
  • Experience of managing in a labour intensive, multi-shift environment is ideal.
The Operational Support Manager must be:
  • Confident and assertive.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to manage their own workload effectively while keeping to strict deadlines.
  • Robust and resilient while being able to absorb pressure and respond positively.
  • Able to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and most importantly, play well with others.
