Legacy OfficerSalary: £25,918 - £30,492 per annum (dependent on experience)Contract type: PermanentHours: Full-timeLocation: Home-basedClosing date: 5th September 2021Interview date: w/c 13th September 2021This is a chance to make a contribution in a varied and interesting role within the Legacy Department dealing with matters relating to legacies and bequests to the Institution. When people leave a legacy to our organisation in their will it is essential thatwe liaise with the controlling solicitors to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible.We are looking for a Legacy Administrator who is able to work on their own initiative as well as being a good team player.You will possess:- Exceptional written communication skills- Excellent administrative and verbal skills and be meticulous in all aspects of your work, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and handle sensitive situations including dealing with bereaved relatives- Good IT and typing skills, to include knowledge of Word and ExcelYou will be responsible for managing the Institutions pecuniary and standard residuary bequests, ensuring legacy income is fully maximised, cash flow maintained, and all legal and procedural requirements met. Attention to detail is key, along with proven communicationand negotiation skills. This will include a diplomatic nature necessary when dealing with sensitive situations. In return, well provide full training relating to legacies.A working knowledge of the law of wills and probate for England, Wales, and Scotland would be advantageous but is not essential.Due to current circumstances, you may be working from home when your role commences. You will be given the correct equipment you need to perform in your role. You will also receive support from your manager and colleagues to ensure a smooth and consistent inductionprocess is delivered. You may also be required to work from your dedicated RNLI asset once the government guidelines change.
