Job Description

Junior DevOps Engineer£45,000 - £50,000 + annual bonus + flexible workingManchester - Commutable from Greater Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Stockport, Altrincham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Huddersfield, Leeds, Preston, Crewe, Chester, Stoke-On-TrentA cutting-edge AI, Fintech scale-up business who are merging the Financial Services and retail world are looking for an ambitious DevOps Engineer who already has some commercial experience within the AWS stack.They are partnered with 30+ world renowned retailers who operate within the mobile stratosphere. The business are 60 people strong, with the ambition to double in size within 18 months. Within the experienced technical team, there is technical architects,developers, Site reliability engineers, and infrastructure team, who will collaborate with the DevOps team that you will be part of.Responsibilities:

  • Implementing Serverless technologies across the platform within AWS.
  • Building and implementing CI/CD Pipelines in Jenkins
  • Creating microservices and containers using Docker, whilst building Kubernetes clusters in EKS.
  • Make the software engineering teams deployment processes more effective.
  • Shadowing experienced members of the DevOps team, learning Continuous integration, automation, scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and Containerisation.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of AWS services
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
  • Infrastructure as code; Terraform, Cloud Formation, Deployment manager, YAML or PowerShell DSC
  • Experience of using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language - Python, Ruby, Go, PowerShell etc.
  • Monitoring and alerting tools - Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk, ELK
