Join us as a Junior Data Engineer with Co-op Group - Hybrid 2 days per week in Manchester office. The Role:Our Client Co-op Group are looking a Junior Data Engineer to join the team to Acquire and use technical expertise to contribute to data product solutions and projects within Co-op Data Enablement function. Working with others, or alone for simple tasks, todevelop data assets (notebooks, data contracts, transformation logic, framework features...). Expected to work autonomously within a set framework, or with others (Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer) on more complex tasks. Only short-term (1-2 week) planningexpectation covering their own time on specific tasks. Requirements and Responsibilities : Write code / scripts / markup to deliver aspects of a wider data solution. Contribute ideas to discussions about improved technical frameworks and ways of working Suggest ways to improve own skills and knowledge. Technical specialists or junior operational managers, working with minimal guidance. As an individual contributor, provides thought leadership to determine the most effective approach to challenges within own area of expertise. Supports and promotes a culture of inclusivity through the actions they take. Contributes to short-term planning within the team and collaborates with peers to deliver great work that enables the team to succeed. Identifies and shares opportunities to improve the way the Co-op operates, to successfully achieve our vision. Desirable Skills: Technical: Basic understanding of SQL & Python Basic understanding or core data concepts (data types, data modelling, data storage formats…) Basic understanding or core application development concepts (testing, version control, environments…) Non-Technical: Good communication with peers and line-manager Appropriate level of productivity in delivering work Willingness to learn new technical skills About Us:At Peregrine, we see beyond the immediate and look to the horizon.
