Job Description

An IT Service Operations Manager is required for our client based in Manchester for a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity. This is a hybrid position with flexibility (potentially able to consider remote dependant on circumstances).This exciting opportunity oversees and is responsible for the day-to-day activities of our clients operational teams, ensuring that all systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. The service operations manager will lead all IS teamsthat respond to user service desk requests, and monitor system stability and performance. As the IT service operations manager you will be required to work closely with infrastructure teams to develop and implement networks and servers. You will also be requiredto effectively manage and improve services to ensure delivery meets the business needs and supports both business strategies and the IS Strategy.As the IT Service Operations Manager you will be responsible for the following (not limited to):

  • To manage the Service Desk Manager, Team Leaders, IT Engineers/Analysts and other IS staff to ensure service delivery within agreed budgets, our SLAs and quality to meet business requirements.
  • To direct IT technicians and operational staff to ensure high levels of support to end users and to assist with the IS department day to day performance, upgrades and directives.
  • You will also assess current department needs and IS Service Desk inquiries to ensure these are managed and answered in a timely manner in line with our SLA.
  • You will implement, and monitor IS Service Desk technician schedules.
  • You will be responsible for the monitoring of the organisations servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and service performance issues.
Essential Experience includes:
  • Experience managing large and complex IT Operations teams
  • Experience in a senior IT leadership role within an I.T. environment.
  • Proven work implementing ITIL processes and procedures across a large enterprise.
  • Proven work creating and maintaining IT policies, procedures, governance and standards
  • Good understanding of latest desktop technologies.
  • Knowledge in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
  • Knowledge of any of the following is an advantage: MS Teams, SharePoint.
  • Team management and leadership experience.
  • Experience of remote team management.
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards ( e.g. ISO27001, ISO20000-1)
