HR Manager Location: Manchester City Centre Salary: £48k - 50k (depending on experience) Contract Type: 12 month FTC - Must be immediately availableOur client, a UK leader within financial services is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join their workforce, based in Manchester city centre.The HR Manager (Operational) is responsible for managing and providing comprehensive and pro-active HRservice and support, primarily to the Manchester-based staff but also for wider group asrequired.Managing and delivering results through a strong, knowledgeable team, the HR Manager engages proactively with business areas to support achievement of their talent, performance and engagement goals, in addition to ensuring the core HR services, includingpayroll, are delivered.Duties of the HR Manager include:* Ensure Manchester line managers are supported with staff issues, providing prompt and* accurate advice in accordance with employment law, statutory rules, and company policies* and procedures. Provide advice and support in relation to disciplinaries, grievance,* performance, capability and sickness issues.* Oversee the HR Co-ordinator and HR Officer when they are dealing with employee* relations issues.* Maintain and annually update the employee handbook and HR policies and procedures to* ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout AJ Bell, in accordance* with best practice and current employment law. Communicate changes to managers and* employees as and when required.* Support the business with restructuring plans, ensuring compliance with employment law,* policies and procedures.* Review and update (where appropriate) HR policies and ensure they are maintained on the* staff intranet.* Management of the monthly Company payroll using Ceridian, following agreed procedures,* checklists and approval process. Achieve the deadline each month.* Ensure self and team comply with all legal, regulatory or data protection policies,* procedures and processes.* Find opportunities to improve and streamline HR processes and procedures.Skills required of the HR Manager will include:* Current employment law and HR best practice.* Surveying and data analysis and interpretation.* Recruitment interviewing and assessment skills.* Development and implementation of employment policies and procedures.* Ability to create HR communications appropriate for the audience.* Understanding of employee engagement.* Ability to work autonomously and flexibly.* Influencing, persuading, coaching and negotiating skills.* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to prepare and present reports to director level.* Pro-active and self-motivated.* Excellent planning and organisation skills to meet deadlines.* Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the Internet.* Excellent attention to detail.* A good working knowledge of HR systems.For further information please send your CV to:
