Job Description

Pearson is seeking an HR business partner who will support business leaders with the execution of the people plan for the Finance Operations (Shared Service) teams. The ideal candidate would be experienced in a Professional / Shared Service environment,confident, creative, yet commercial in their thinking. The role will be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with global leaders to support and anticipate needs. You will be operating as a change agent on culture and driver of key people initiatives,whilst managing the delivery of HR annual processes and employee relations cases as they arise.Working in partnership with the HR teams (CoEs, Talent Acquisition and HR Ops) to build organisational alignment and capability through the delivery of targeted people programs that enables the achievement of Fin Ops strategic business priorities and criticalinitiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to influence, shape and make real change creating the most engaging and compelling employee experience for our people.Role responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to develop our leadership capability and skills needed for our future success; specific focus on resource plans, skills development, succession and employee engagement.
  • Lead diversity of thought and engagement, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion activities for Finance Operations.
  • Create and facilitate workshops for leaders to build their understanding of core HR practices such as career and development discussions, compensation management, high performing team initiatives etc.
  • Execute the global HR programs and provide guidance on policies and procedures to Finance Operations teams.
  • Participate and support the wider HR Team with organisation design, global succession planning, career/performance management, strategic workforce planning, reward, learning and growth initiatives.
  • Be the voice of the people agenda and provide appropriate solutions for the business.
  • Review and analyze business and people metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience.
  • Continuously work with managers across the business to support and drive all people related processes, topics and priorities, such as: performance management, talent management, org design, employee engagement and workforce planning
  • Engage and influence regional management teams to support and drive local HR initiatives.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Complete any statutory reporting specific to Northern Ireland.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field.
  • Proven experience operating as an HR Generalist in HRBP model within a Professional / Shared Service environment.
  • Knowledge of NI employment law and legislation
  • CIPD qualified desirable
  • Previous experience partnering global stakeholders although highly advantageous, not essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate to employees at all levels with tact and diplomacy. Must be detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment and demonstrate initiative/results with a customer focused "can do" approach.
  • Excellent level of data management and analysis experience, confident analysing and interpreting data and presenting outcomes to stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and sometimes emotional issues
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues
