Job Description

Robert Walters are excited to be representing a leading manufacturer based in Manchester. We are looking for a Group Reporting Analyst to provide support to the Group Financial Controller. The responsibilities include the production of monthly managementaccounts and forecasts, budgets and strategic plans for several head offices entities, involvement in the Group consolidated management accounts reporting process and involvement in the production of the Group annual report and half year accounts.Key responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts for several head office entities, working closely with the PLC Management Accountant.
  • Production of forecasts, budgets and strategic plans for the head office entities.
  • Reviewing and challenging monthly submissions from the operating units, and assisting with improving the control environment across the business.
  • Responsible for the drafting of commentary for the FD Report which highlights any issues/variances in the monthly management accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of the IFRS Group Annual Report and half year accounts, including being a key point of contact for Groups external auditors.
  • Take ownership of subsidiary UK GAAP financial statements.
  • Preparation of ad hoc analysis for the Group Finance Director to support delivery of the Groups Annual and Strategic Plans.
  • Maintaining control and supervision of the management incentive plans (annual bonuses and Share option plans).
  • Involvement in the update of and ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies.
  • Assisting on the project to transfer from the current accounting systems to the single group wide ERP system, including documentation of processes.
  • Supporting the Tax and Pensions functions with financial information / analysis.
  • Involvement in the monthly 13 week Group cash flow forecasting procedures.
  • Involvement in Treasury management activities (RCF drawdowns, cash sweeps, intercompany dividends and loans, hedging transactions etc).
Experience required
  • More than three years experience in undertaking financial control audits, preferably within the Big 4/Top 10 accountancy firms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate at all levels of the company organisation.
  • Up-to-date strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101), with experience of writing technical accounting papers.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness and aptitude to learn Cognos reporting system (an excel based reporting system) and M3 ERP system.
  • Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. V Lookups, pivot tables etc)
  • Knowledge of data analysis tool(s) desirable.
  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
