Job Description

Group Operations Manager - Field Based - Competitive salary and company carLocation: Cheshire / Greater ManchesterWork Pattern: 5 days out of 7 (including 13 Saturdays and 13 Sundays per year, bank holiday working may also be required.) This position will involve regular travel and some overnight stays.McColl’s Retail Group (MRG) are a leading neighbourhood retailer serving the Convenience and Newsagent sectors with a strong national presence throughout the UK.We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and highly talented individual to take on the role of Group Operations Manager within our busy Operations Department. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the key purpose of this role is to lead, coach and develop high performing teams across the group to deliver an excellent shopping experience for customers, maximising sales and profit contribution for the business, whilst promoting a great place to work for our colleagues.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead your team to deliver their roles by coaching and developing, setting clear performance objectives and having robust personal development plans which are regularly reviewed.
  • Encourage your team to work collaboratively/cross functionally with their key stakeholders to deliver the company objectives, whilst ensuring colleagues are treated fairly and consistently.
  • Create a culture of empowerment, accountability and an agile way of working to successfully deliver company KPIs for the region.
  • Create strong customer shopping experience, through empowering your team to deliver consistently brilliant operating standards and best practice.
  • Lead as a role model for customer engagement, championing a culture where we listen to customer feedback to further improve their experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with field and Retail Support Centre colleagues to drive new perspectives and initiatives both operationally and commercially.
  • Champion and drive the vision, strategy and company roadmap and endeavour to influence operational and commercial decisions positively.
  • In order to succeed in this role, suitable candidates must have:
  • Multi-site operational management experience (preferably within the food retail/ catering or forecourt sector).
  • A passion for food retailing and the ability to grow within our business.
  • A current full UK driving license.
