Job Description

We are hiring a FinOps Operations Administrator for a fast-paced company specialising in the optimisation and delivery of professional services and managed services around all aspects of Cloud solutions with a specific focus on AWS.My client wants to change the way people look at and use Public Cloud services as we believe any organisation from small start-ups to large multinationals can unleash the power these services to improve their business efficiency.You will play a key role in analysing and managing Cloud spend for customers businesses, using data to identify areas of focus, driving change at an engineering level, and advising senior managers on FinOps strategies.As part of a highly skilled team, youwill be focused on cost optimisation, recommendations, and solutions to solve specific business problems such as building bespoke reporting solutions.This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in an emerging and exciting space within the industry and take a leading position as a FinOps SME in a forward-thinking and ambitious company with brilliant career progression pathways, training, and certification.Role Key Objectives as a FinOps Operations Administrator

  • Carry out the onboarding of new customers, guiding them through the process and with the use of scheduled demo sessions help them understand the toolsets.
  • Help customers understand the opportunities for optimisation and their cost saving abilities
  • Solve a variety of customer requests from billing to account structure and cost optimisation
  • Build and maintain relationships with your customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with 3rd party suppliers and look for new toolset additions that can be included in our service offerings.
  • Define your customers cloud strategy, align with their budget, strategize a cost saving plan, analyse ability and put into action.
  • Build and maintain internal and external facing technical documentation.
  • Assist with the FinOps related areas of customer reporting.
  • Understand Finops operations and processes; investigate operations gaps and update procedures for teams to follow.
  • Constantly updating stakeholders on progress of onboarding/ customer review, this will include scheduling in customer quarterly/review calls with customers and aligning key stakeholders
  • Take ownership of contractual process within FinOps - including; Billing work orders and Eco for both Bytes and Cloud Bridge
  • Picking up Contractual expiration process and updating AM/Customer, Zendesk tickets and Asana project.
  • Work with the billing team to ensure new customers have been onboarded correctly and all info provided via the Billing tracker. Log tickets via AWS Support when invoices need to be updated and credits need to be issued and notify Billing team of changes.
  • Once contractual signed, liaise between FinOps technical and customer to arrange onboarding calls
  • Ensure both Asana and Eco tracker is updated at all times
  • Assigning FinOps support tickets to yourselves; picking up Finops operations tickets yourself and designating Technical queries to the right team members.
  • Updating the bi-weekly Finops report
Essential Skills as a FinOps Operations Administrator
  • Experience in cost optimisation and saving implementations on cloud projects.
  • Passionate and comfortable handling FinOps discussions at the business or financial level.
  • Time and task management with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous requests
  • Adaptable and flexible with workloads and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills /collaboration skills - to ensure progress is made
  • Good written documentation and communication skills
  • Foundational Cloud services knowledge
  • Possess a proactive and driven approach to work
  • Keen eye for detail
Desirables for FinOps Operations Administrator
  • AWS Certification (Cloud Practitioner)
  • Financial Qualification/FinOps Certification.
  • Excel skills/ASANA
