Job Description

The Engineering Team Manager will form a crucial part of the Engineering Leadership team and will be responsible for the Blending and Blowmould departments, reporting directly to the Site Engineering Manager. They will have responsibility for maintainingall assets to optimise the utilisation of the equipment and deliver maximum volume at the right quality throughout these departments.Client DetailsMichael Page is working with working with a leading Global FMCG Manufacturing business to recruit an Engineering Team Manager for its site in Greater Manchester. This organisation supplies have c.20 sites worldwide, supplying its product to major retailersthroughout the world.DescriptionDay to day responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, lead and mentor a team of 9 Engineers
  • Creating a CI culture and Pro-Active Maintenance strategy for Blending & Blowmould Departments, whilst installing a safety first culture amongst the team.
  • Responsible for actioning corrective and protective actions to ensure departmental compliance and best practices for the Engineering Function is achieved

  • Implement OPEX tools such as SMED, 5s, TPM, 5 Why and Route Cause analysis
  • Ensure adherence to PPM schedule for department and constantly drive within the team
  • Support the operations teams in best practice ways of working for each asset.
  • Ownership of Engineering KPIs- Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People
  • Drive the department reliability agenda including completion root cause analysis (RCA) processes and drive / deliver the agreed actions to deliver key maintenance KPIs
  • Development of engineering team covering training, development and identification of skill gaps
  • Ensure Quality and Health & Safety processes are adhered to and prioiritised
ProfileThe successful Engineering Team Manager will possess a range of the following:
  • Experience working in an FMCG production environment (liquid manufacturing advantageous)
  • Excellent understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage teams across a 24/7 operation
  • Experience identifying Capex opportunities inclusive of cost benefit/pay back opportunities
  • Relevant Engineering Qualification (Electrical advantageous)
