Job Description

A growing UK company that manufactures leading technology protection relays and medium voltagecircuit breakers is looking for an Engineering Manager - Design in Manchester. Along with a salary of up to £65,000 per annum, you will also receive 25 days holiday per year (pro rata) with a yearly increase, and a company pension scheme.This is a varied and hands on role suiting an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer familiar with concept design through to final product manufacturing, ideally from a switchgear background and willing to manage and lead the team undertaking an end-to-endapproach.As Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Take a lead role in design and manage the engineering and production teams
  • Be active in discovering and investigating new manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Interpret client requirements into functional cost-effective designs
  • Liaise from sales through to inhouse fabrication
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager with:
  • HNC/HND with relevant experience or BSc/BEng Electrical / Mechanical Graduate
  • Experience designing within SolidWorks to produce unambiguous manufacturing and assembly drawings
  • Experience of IEC62271 and ENA TS41-36 standards
  • Experience of sheet metal and CNC production processes for turned parts
  • Knowledge of good assembly environment production practices
