This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in Police Driver Training by joining the newly restructured Driver Training Unit at Greater Manchester Police.As part of our People and Development Branch, you will play a key part in supporting our officers and staff by ensuring the delivery of high-quality driver training force wide.As a Driving Instructor in a career graded post, you will be part of a team of highly skilled staff within the branch. You will assist your colleagues in providing a high quality service that meets the force requirements and enables the Force to achieve itsobjectives by providing support in a number of different areas. This will include the delivery of Police Driver Training under the National curriculum stipulated within the College of Policing’s Police Driving Programme and DVSA approved driver training.The successful candidate will be experienced in working as part of a team and have the ability to work unsupervised while conducting on road training. You will provide comprehensive Driver Training together with the design and delivery of Driver Training programmesfor both Police and Support staff in line with force and College of Policing requirements.You will assist with delivery, designing and developing a range of other training programmes for courses and workshops for both internal and external candidates, keep up to date with new training techniques by liaising with training officer groups to ensurethe material and courses reflect the latest legislative requirements and College of Policing guidance. Ensure Day to day management of students in maintained whilst courses are in progress.In order to be considered for the higher grade, applicants must demonstrate competence and experience in delivering a range of specialist driver training.If you feel that you possess the necessary skills and qualities to join our team, we look forward to hearing from youSkills and experience:The post holder will currently hold or successfully obtain:• A teaching qualification, to the standards described within the Police Sector Standard for Training of Trainers.• A Police Advanced Driving qualification (current or recent) OR be an approved Driving Instructor, (ADI) qualification, and successfully pass a Police Advanced Driving course.• Meet DVSA Group 2 medical standards.• National Police Driving Instructor qualification.
