Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, ideally with a degree in Law or studying towards CILEX to join our Legal Services Unit in Manchester as an Assistant Paralegal or Paralegal About CMS CMS is a Future Facing firm. About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a number of different Lawyers and clients across the UK. Whilst the role is predominantly Construction focused, you may be required to assist with legal tasks related to a variety of areas of law.Examples of the type of work you will be involved with include:* Drafting engagement letters* Initial drafts/revisions of correspondence* Extranet site set up, uploading and ongoing maintenance as a repository for electronic copies of documents* Reviewing and summarising documents received from the client and producing chronologies and indices* Preparing initial drafts of documentation such as collateral warranties and consultant appointments* Preparing engrossments and checking documents have been properly executed* Walking clients through the document execution process* Helping to develop document automation to promote movement towards more frequent use of AI technology* Helping / mentoring the firms solicitor apprenticesAbout YouIdeally, you will hold a degree in Law or Business Law or will be working towards CILEX and may have experience of working as a paralegal or within a legal environment.We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong academic background.You will have a keen eye for detail with the ability to use your initiative whilst working on multiple tasks.You will have excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.Exceptional communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to work well in a team.
