Job Description

Job Overview:Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a Manufacturing business based in Manchester on their search for a Financial Controller. The role will be responsible for the full financial reporting of the multi-business unit and multi-plant reporting viewpoints,as well as being a multi-stakeholder role. The role will be responsible for partnering across the different functions of the business in order to develop solutions to complex business problems, whilst improving the present and future operational and financialperformance. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, and will effectively communicate at all levels.Salary: CompetitiveLocation: ManchesterMain Duties:

  • Managing a team of 6 accountants in order to provide a wide range of financial services to corporate, manufacturing and service plants both internally and externally
  • Will serve as the Key Business Partner with the General Manager to deliver continued improvement across both finance and non-finance functions
  • Will serve as the Key Business Partner with the multi-functional managers to develop strong and prosperous relationships, solve complex problems, and improve operational and financial performance
  • Responsible for Monthly corporate reporting, forecasting, budgeting, plant level reporting, commercial reporting, inventory and standard costing, management accounting, KPIs
  • Annual UKGAAP statutory accounts, and tax returns
  • Quarterly Tax Reporting to Corporate
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Oversee the Global Financial Shared Service business to guarantee we receive a quality AR, AP, payroll, treasury, and employee expenses service
  • Develop systems and procedures to drive automation and to increase the quality of available management information via Power BI, SAP BI, and Excel
  • Partner with SIOPs and materials management to create and apply inventory reduction strategies, inventory reporting
  • UK Standard costing process and procedures including absorption reporting, efficiency calculations, shop floor data capture
  • Produce and deliver a number of presentation packs per month to a multi-functional audience (Operations Review, Monthly Inventory Business Table, Monthly Sales Business Table, Monthly Corporate Inventory Review)
  • Provide full suite of commercial including customer spend analysis, margin by value stream, brand etc.
  • Identify, review, and lead actions to resolve loss-making and low-margin sales orders
  • Work alongside external advisors and internal colleagues to manage financial and legal compliance
  • Use the Financial control framework (Sarbanes Oxley) to ensure compliance adheres to the companies policies and procedures
Person Specification:
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience within a manufacturing or commercial environment essential
  • SAP and Advanced Excel skills essential
  • Power BI Reporting and SAP BI Reporting essential
  • Ability to lead multi-functional meetings and deliver solutions to business problems
  • Strong stakeholder management
