Job Description

The expansion has been rapid, which has only continued in recent yearsAbout the role:This Commercial Finance Business Partner role is one of the most exciting and influential across the whole business. The role reports directly to a commercially minded CFO with impressive pedigree in the consumer sector, but will have significant involvementacross multiple departments including Merch & Buying, Trading, Marketing and Ops. For this reason, we are looking for an excellent commercial business partner, someone who naturally communicates well in all different contexts, providing first class decisionsupport and bringing complex data to life.Key responsibilities:

  • Senior stakeholder management and business partnering
  • Analysis of commercial and customer data and communication of the impact to business finances
  • Reporting improvements and identification and delivery on the finance functions reporting capabilities
  • KPI /Unit economics review - produce and present at weekly management meetings as necessary
  • Commercial terms reviews
  • Marketing spend analysis (ROI , CPC, CAC, CR%, LTV etc)
  • Unit economics/profit optimisation projects (Sales pricing, Cash Margins, Operations/Logistics, Marketing spend efficiency, Opex)
  • Strategic /Growth project support as/if required (incl. International, M&A, Corporate financing, new business case investment appraisals etc)
  • Ad hoc special projects for CFO and CEO as required
  • Rolling P&L forecasting including integrated working capital models
  • Lead the annual Budget cycle working with cross functional teams to develop financial/working capital outputs required
  • Commercial weekly and monthly financial reporting and presentation in meetings
  • Planning - Market, channel, category sales & margin and operating models
  • Analysis - Profitability, margins, pricing including "What If"/scenario planning to optimise unit economics and cash margin control
Person profile:
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with post qualification experience
  • Demonstrable FP&A and commercial finance experience within a consumer goods business and ideally within a fast paced digital/e-commerce environment
  • E-commerce experience highly beneficial
  • Experience of working with functions such as Merch & Buying, Trading, Marketing and Ops highly beneficial.
  • Commercial and resilient character with the ability to operate in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • First class communication ability, including presentation skills - can bring people together and communicate data and insights in succinct and meaningful way.
  • Strong IT skills with BI/MI tools (AWS Quicksight desirable) and Advanced Excel modelling ability
  • High energy, ambition, and commerciality
  • Self-starter - can manage multiple priorities
