Job Description

Are you a Commercial Consultant looking for an exciting new challenge in a great place to workWe have a fantastic opportunity for an expert in contracts and costs, to join our Consulting Major Projects Team supporting the New Hospital programme. You can be based anywhereacross the UK, and we provide benefits which you can flex to meet your personal needs.You will likely be required to travel to the Salford Quays site between 1-3 per month and up to weekly travel to NHS SBS sites.What youll be doing:

  • Leading and delivering assignment/projects/proposals in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures.
  • Taking ownership for the project management, to plan, control and monitor results, build efficiency, operate an active system of risk management and ensure the continuity of day-to-day business.
  • Ensuring effective client engagement and partner management during assignment/project in order to mitigate risk and handle expectations.
  • Identifing and managing risk in the business activities and taking ownership for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner.
  • Advising, amending, and agreeing scope and scope changes.
  • End to end process management through scope – approvals – invoicing – payment.
  • Development and delivery of proportionate commercial processes to enable to effective discharge of duties and delivery of programme objective
  • Budget tracking and spend profiling.
  • Update and maintain data, capture, and analyse information to support the management of delivery contracts.
  • Supervise and evaluate risks and issues using a tracking mechanism to enable a proactive resolution and critical issue processes.
  • Contribute to the information management of performance/progress.
  • Communicate information, risks, issues, and dependencies, including briefings and reports to the Programme Delivery Director.
What you’ll bring:
  • Consulting experience.
  • Cost management experience.
  • Commercial abilities and contract management experience, used to running scope change.
  • Analysis and understanding of data reporting, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail.
  • Report writing experience, including outcomes, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Experience of working with partners, internal and external, at all levels of seniority.
  • Knowledge of public sector ways of working would be of benefit.
  • Highly organised, with ability to develop reporting techniques tailored to the audience.
  • Ability to “start fast”, working in a dynamic environment with a proactive approach to work.
