Job Description

Remote Cloud Engineer opportunity to join an expanding global software vendor. The Cloud Engineer must have a strong background in complex troubleshooting across a range of technologies. You will be involved in decoding technical software output and installation logs, SQL database investigation, troubleshooting, bug reporting, customisingsoftware tools and getting involved in testing and deploying newly developed software in to the Cloud (primarily MS Azure).Technical Skills:The successful candidates will ideally have a sound understanding of:

  • Cloud technologies (Azure / AWS)
  • infrastructure and virtualisation (Windows and/or Mac OS, Windows Servers, VMware/Citrix)
  • Networking principles,
  • It would be desirable to have experience / knowledge of SQL server including the ability to write/amend queries.
  • Programming / scripting with Powershell, VBScript or any similar language
  • Software deployment with technologies such as SCCM would also be benedficial, although knowledge of these technologies is not essential.
  • Any interest or experience in Data Analytics / Big Data would be beneficial.
Above all, the cloud engineer will be a keen technologist with a hunger to learn new skills and develop their career.Please note Security Clearance will be required and so candidates must meet the criteria to obtain Clearance (ideally have a UK passport / Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK and no criminal record).
