Job Description

My well known banking client is recruiting into their Lending Fulfilment team.Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and advice to Front Office and Credit in relation to all aspects of the fulfilment stage of a loan or overdraft facility from the point of sanction to drawdown
  • Maintain the appropriate bank records to support the accurate reporting of "current" status of all transactions by engaging with the Banks internal platforms and systems to enable the bank to manage the risk in a proactive manner.
  • Manage the drawdown requirements of the deal ensuring that all internal requirements are met including IRFS 9 checks, all Internal control checks, payment protocols and all risk management steps are undertaken. All risks associated with the process aremitigated in line with the Banks current guidelines
  • Review and comment on legal documents drafted by panel solicitors in relation to transactions, such as facility letters and letters of variation
  • Process amendments and servicing requests during the life of facilities
  • Adhering to the I AM Risk framework and support business process improvement and performance measurement techniques.
  • Subject Matter Expert on technical aspects of the role. This includes but not limited to drafting documentation &/or operational drawdown/ system mechanics
  • Sharing of knowhow and best practice with new and existing team members, improving the efficiency of the team.
  • Continual evaluation and suggestion of improvements to processes.
  • Embrace change (including material changes).
  • Maintaining a positive can-do attitude and motivating the team.
  • Able to take ownership of a lending case at any stage and overcome issues to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Able to handle a range of lending transactions and different sectors of the business and support on complex transactions with supervision.
  • Participate in meetings to collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure optimum completion of the transaction or projects (as applicable).
Case Management team specific:
  • Liaise with Commercial Clients customers to support them through the various stages of the fulfilment process ensuring that you reflect the banks behaviours and standards and that you always deliver a first-class service.
  • Draft legal documents in relation to transactions, such as facility letters, letters of variation, security documents and security confirmations
  • Instruct the banks Panel solicitors to act for the Bank ensuring that the instruction accurately reflects the Banks requirements in line with our current risk appetite.
  • Liaise with the banks Panel solicitors on all aspects of the deal. You will ensure that that all Conditions Precedent are met prior to drawdown referring to Credit and Front Office where required.
  • Have the appropriate knowledge and understanding of property due diligence to manage the risks associated with taking property as security.
  • Understand the risks associated with in-house security taking of non-property related security to ensure that security is fully enforceable
  • Register security given by incorporated bodies at Companies House, ensuring that all security is correctly executed and registered within the 21-day registration period.
  • Support with the review and performance of firms on the Banks Business Legal Panel to ensure customers receive excellent service and the bank the appropriate level of risk management associated with the taking of security.
Corporate Drawdown team specific:
  • Able to review both internally and externally produced legal documentation within tight timescales, such as facility agreements, amendment letters and ancillary documents, ensuring correct from an operational and systems perspective
  • Conversant with relevant reference rates including Term SONIA
Corporate Documentation team specific:
  • Capability to draft legal documentation, occasionally including non-standard provisions, ensuring documentation is robust
  • Ability to check straightforward documents
