Job Description

Job Title: Campus and Partnership Liaison LibrarianLocation: ManchesterAs a Campus and Partnership Liaison Librarian you will be responsible for helping to set up and establish our library in Manchester. This is a unique role that will afford a lot of responsibility to the successful candidate. After the initial set up you willbe acting as a campus and partnership liaison librarian, delivering library services and information literacy instruction and support to students and academic staff, and the wider QA community.Key Responsibilities:

  • Campus library management. This includes providing library services: enquiries, stock circulation, textbook reservations, equipment, and software troubleshooting etc., including on some evenings and Saturdays.
  • Supporting library users at all levels in making best use of collections and services for increasing their attainment; anticipating and resolving enquiries and creating appropriate guidance materials in various formats.
  • Providing library liaison to one or more QAHE academic partnerships. This includes maintaining collaborative working relationships with partner university librarians and QAHE academics and programme managers; ensuring the QAHE Library provision meets theneeds of the students on relevant programmes.
  • Managing campus collections, identifying new and good value acquisition opportunities for learning and research resources based on sound understanding of licencing and copyright issues, and developments in publishing.
About you:
  • Awareness of the HE environment and relevant pedagogies.
  • Awareness of relevant technologies: LMS, ebook libraries, research databases, generic and specialist search engines, VLEs and other eLearning solutions; web and video document production.
  • Literature searching and reference management.
  • Library collection management in print and electronic environments.
