Job Description

Business AnalystBusiness Engagement SpecialistThe TeamThe BA team acts as an internal consulting function to the firm and are involved in a number of change programmes for the business. Each business analyst has a number of analysis projects running in parallel across different areas including: procurement, integration, compliance, feasibility, solution development and design. It is a small high performing team that takes a holistic approach acting with the firms best interests. This means that strong business and technical skills are essential for this role and working in a hybrid waterfall/agile environment with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities

  • Leading ongoing reviews of existing processes, mapping and evaluating processes, anticipating requirements, identifying areas for improvement, as well as developing solutions.
  • Writing reports and presenting the findings of reports to a range of senior stakeholders and at partner level.
  • Eliciting and identifying the needs and wants of end users for new solutions, systems and processes including conducting workshops across varied stakeholder groups to elicit and develop ideas and findings collaboratively.
  • Analysing findings and using modelling methods to develop specifications, recommend changes and improvements and to define and document requirements and recommendations.
  • Developing user stories that will support how the firm develops its business services capability moving forward.
  • Requirements validation ensuring eventual proposed solutions meet business needs.
  • Communicating with multiple stakeholders at all levels informally and in formal presentations and in writing including the preparation of formal business cases.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements - you will have or develop detailed knowledge of the functionality of key products and comparative products in the market and will maintain users stories and summaries for the solutions, systems and processes which the firm implements.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven previous experience in business analysis, ideally in a law firm but otherwise in professional services.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • A history of leading and supporting successful business change and IT projects.
  • Stakeholder engagement - the ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to identify or formulate the most appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Very high competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook.
  • An interest in innovation and a passion for driving change.
  • Experience in data analytics is desirable.
  • Experience running consultancy workshops or projects with clients in order to identify improvements which clients might make to their internal delivery of legal services is desirable.
  • Shows initiative while is equally comfortable working on their own and being part of a highly collaborative team.
