Job Description

Droylsden- ASD learning support mentor

  • Role location: Droylsden
  • Starting date: Immediate
  • Salary: £1350-£1600 PM depending on experience
A fantastic 2 form entry school within Droylsden are looking for staff to support children with ASD.Are you interested in working with Special Educational NeedsDo you have experience working with children with ASDCan you support children this academic year as a learning support mentorOur SEN Schools accommodate students with a range of SEND types, but this role is to support students with ASD. The school offer an inclusive learning environment by identifying students strengths and allowing them to achieve the desired potential. The2-form entry school offer a welcoming learning environment and adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of the students appropriately.Within the ASD learning support role, you will also be given the chance to support small groups of SEN children to ensure they are given every opportunity to excel and provide one to one support as directed.Requirements- Previous SEN experience - ASD, Complex Needs and Challenging Behaviour
  • Ability to plan and prepare appropriate work.
  • Ability to assess the needs of individual students and maintain appropriate records in curriculum areas.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of delivering education to students with SEN.
  • Ability to select appropriate resources to create a motivating environment.
  • Ability to direct the work of a teaching assistant.
  • Ability to work closely with staff members to develop the adapted curriculum.
  • Excellent time management skills.
