Area Sales Manager - Renders & MortarsJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Renders & MortarsIndustry Sector: Renders, Mortars, Façade System, External Wall Insulation, External Wall, Façades, External Wall Solutions, EWI, Render, Textured Products, Silicone Render, Heavyside Building Products, Heavyside, Contractors, Merchants, External Wall Insulation, Exterior Finishes, Structural Concrete, Building Materials, Rainscreen, Façade, Cladding, Main Contractors, Plastering Contractors, Applicators, Merchants, Builders MerchantsArea to be covered: North (Birmingham to Lancaster across to Hull)Ideally based: Manchester / Liverpool (Western side)Remuneration: £40,000 - £45,000neg (depending on exp) + 10% bonusBenefits: Passat company car & full comprehensive benefits package The role of the Area Sales Manager - Renders & Mortars will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a high quality manufactured range of renders & mortar systems for facades
  • 60% of your time will be focused on selling to plastering contractors, applicators, main contractors and specialist sub-contractors
  • 20-25% selling to national & independent builders merchants such as; Travis Perkins, Grafton, Buildbase, Jewsons etc (all back sold through the merchant channels)
  • The remaining 15-20% generating specification via architects & facades consultants
  • Dealing with typical order values of £10k - £100k+ depending on project sizes
  • Will inherit circa £150k-200k worth of accounts and will look to grow this considerably over the coming years
  • Majority of your time will be focused on developing new business relationships
  • Will be required to attend exhibitions and trade shows when times permit
    • The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Renders & Mortars with:
  • Must have a proven track record in field sales selling construction / heavyside building materials such as; renders, mortars, façade systems, plasters, concrete, paving, aggregates, EWI, external wall insulation, plasters, cladding, insulation, rainscreen, facades, or related products
  • Must have sold to either builder merchants such as; Travis Perkins, Grafton, Buildbase, Jewsons OR plastering contractors, plasterers, applicators, main contractors (ideally both)
  • Would consider a sales person working for a builders merchants looking to make the move a manufacturer
  • Ideally have a business management, sales, marketing qualification (not essential)
  • Ideally have contacts in the market
  • Technical and on-site experience with building materials
  • Genuine get up and go’, determined and tenacious, make a good impression
