Pay rate – to £36 per hourContract rolePertemps are recruiting for Moving and Handling advisors in the Manchester area.Please see below for more details.You are likely to be coming from a Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy/Nursing background.An exciting opportunity has arisen within Adult Social Care at Manchester City Council for (x3 agency) Moving and Handling advisors to be part of the development and delivery of a moving and handling optimisation role, within a newly established team. The rolerequires experience of moving and handling with a background of equipment and adaptations, and the ability to risk assess and implement single handed care solutions. The role holder will consider solutions to reduce the dependency of citizens and the needfor long-term double handed packages of care.The role holder will provide a comprehensive and streamlined service to citizens, to maximise independence, choice, safety and quality of life.The key functions of the role include complex assessment for the provision of Moving and Handling equipment, moving and handling risk assessments, reviewing current and new packages of care to see if citizens who are currently double cover care, can be reducedto single handed. The main objective is to enable people to live as independently as possible within their own homes. The role holder will provide moving and handling training to families and carers as required.The role holder will work closely with Health, Care agencies, families and key stakeholders to ensure delivery of a cohesive, efficient and cost-effective service.We need someone with accredited manual handling of people training to carry out moving and handling risk assessments in the community, hospitals and residential care and to provide training to carers and family in the use of manual handling equipment (hoists/slingsetc).The candidate must have experience in training carers/families.Will consider physio/OT etc., the candidates MUST have accredited manual handling training and experience of undertaking risk assessments and training. the candidate MUST be Trusted Assessor Level 4 qualified or experienced in assessing for equipment and majoradaptations for activities of daily living.Desirable - Hold Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy/Nursing
