Job Description

Whats the purpose of role:A member of the Procurement team based in Heston. You will be reporting into and working closely with the Buyers assisting in day to day supplier management, product selection and other aspects of procurement.Who youll deal with:Internal: Colleagues, Operational Managers, Support FunctionsExternal: Suppliers, CustomersWhat youll be doing:

  • Supporting the Buyer in development of the overall procurement business strategy, including liaising with suppliers to ensure products and services fit with the needs of the overall business stakeholders
  • Assist in day-to-day supply chain problem solving becoming the link between the units, suppliers and the procurement team
  • Support the on-going menu development process by representing the department at major airline presentations and capturing all supporting product information for smooth implementation of changes
  • Ordering of samples for presentations and new product development
  • Managing the flow of cost price data from suppliers ensure the filing of information is accurate and readily accessible
  • Liaising with members of the commercial team to assist in any menu or equipment updates that need communicating to suppliers
  • Have knowledge of inventory management to assist in build up and run-down reporting of food items on chartered and retail on board menus

  • Be highly conscientious and enjoy working on your own initiative; able to work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Have an analytical and methodical approach, and be able to plan and multi-task in a structured way
  • Hold a clean UK driving license as there maybe the requirement for travel to suppliers and units, not essential.
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office applications, SAP MM system (essential) and adaptive to mainframe systems
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skillsBe able to perform data analysis and management reporting

Accountable for the flow of cost price data and supporting the buyer in daily ordering. A transactional role focused on the collation and accuracyof information and timely task completion. Direction and guidance is easily accessible via the Buyer. No direct budget or people management responsibility will work within defined management parameters highlighting any concerns to be addressed by a manager.Will be required to interact with the team, colleagues from other process areas, suppliers and customers
