Job description Engineering Project ManagerLocation: MalvernSalary: £38 -£45k per yearHours: Full timeWright Staff is working with a well-established Engineering business in Malvern who are looking for a Engineering Project Manager.This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering company that supply into varying industries.Job:We have an opportunity for a Projects Manager/Site Manager, responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of projects. The position would be based at our offices in Malvern but there would be a requirement to travel and spendextended periods at customer sites.This role would be primarily suited to someone who has experience of running multi-faceted projects with a mix of internal equipment and specialist contractors. A working knowledge of CDM would be advantageous to the role , with demonstrable skills in achievingtight project schedules. Ideally you will come from a back ground technical discipline and developed the required commercial skills to be an effective PM.Reporting to:Head of Project ManagementTasks:

  • Initiate the project - check feasibility and work out budgets, teams and resources.
  • Carry out planning - this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of the client.
  • Select, lead, and motivate the project team from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the project - which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget.
  • Carry out monitoring and control activities to track the progress of the project.
  • Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time.
  • Ensure that the client is aware of the "milestone" timelines and encourage payment to company once they have been fulfilled.
  • Implement any necessary changes throughout the process.
  • Report regularly to management and the client
  • close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for the next project.
Required Qualifications:
  • IOSH.
  • Ability to write risk assessments.
  • COSHH.
  • Project management certification.
  • Managing safety.
  • Ideally SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Personal Characteristics & Skills:
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills (self & others).
  • Technically minded with a solution-driven work ethic.
  • Resilience & excellent communication skills both verbal & written at all levels.
  • Ability to problem solve and make commercial decisions.
  • Read & interpret engineering drawings.
  • Deliver to tight deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Passionate about engineering.
  • Ideally HNC / Degree level although experience is essential.
