Job Description

Antony James Recruitment is recruiting for a quantity surveyor in the Essex area.Salary of £55,000-£60,000Working for a boutique firm in the Essex area, the company specialises in contracts with the education and health care sectors.You must have experience working on commercial projects and a great track record working for a main contractor.Principal duties include

  • Creating cost estimates for building projects
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit tenders.
  • Keep track of project costs and financial progress.
  • Account management and administration for subcontractors.
  • As needed, prepare and distribute variation cost predictions.
  • Identify areas for margin improvement.
  • Visit the site on a regular basis to monitor progress, verify quantities, and generate monthly appraisals for the client.
  • Attend client and architect meetings as needed.
  • Assist other commercial team members.
Skills:
  • The ability to control your own workload on projects
  • Excellent time management abilities, as well as the capacity to operate under pressure.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Extensive attention to detail.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the building and construction industries.
