What its like to work here The ranger team care for exceptional places, the South Devon Countryside team are responsible forapproximately 35 miles of beautiful coastline stretchingfromWemburyto Dartmouth and are part of the largerSouth and East Devon portfolio.Our team, work with many volunteers andcommunity groups to deliver excellent conservation workand opportunities for the public to get engaged with ourwork and understand the NT cause.We have many Sites of Special Scientific Interest andstrong partnerships withlike mindedorganisations and anopportunity with the National Trusts Land Outdoors andNature programme to pioneer a new approach to landmanagement on a landscape scale. What youll be doing The Countryside Team are focused on creating a healthier, more beautiful natural environment across South Devon. Developing management site plans with a view to improving our land conservation, develop stronger partnerships with tenants and local communitiesand provide experiences that move, teach and inspire our visitors.Working with a friendly team, which consists of a Countryside Manger, 1 Area Ranger, 2 x Project Area Ranger, 2 Rangers, Visitor Operations & Experience Manager, and a Welcome Manager for the car park sites. The team are supported by a great team of volunteerrangers. Youre also part of a wider portfolio team which provides administrative, compliance, estate management, buildings advice.Youll deliver practical conservation work to protect and enhance the conservation status of the property and meet its objectives under the Trusts Land Outdoors and Nature programme.Youll be working across our varied estate, both countryside and coastalsites helping the wider team when and where needed, delivering great service to visitors and practical countryside management work.Work effectively alongside our tenants and partners in the local community to protect and enhance the Trusts assets and reputation.There will be some weekend and evening working and a weekend cover rota in the summer months.
