Job Description

The Warehouse Operations Manager will ensure the efficient operation of all warehouse activities at our clients operation near Maidstone and a further key distribution location.Client DetailsOur client is a key player in the FMCG distribution sector and remains on an exciting business journey.DescriptionAs the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be based at our clients operation near Maidstone and have responsibility for the following:

  • Youll be responsible for the effective leadership of the warehouse function, managing a complex operation and a headcount of c70 FTE, ensuring that all aspects of the operation run effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee a fast paced inbound and despatch operation across 2 key locations.
  • Use your commercial awareness to use both data and management information to manage budgets strategically.
  • Driving departmental performance to exceed KPIs.
  • Champion safety of the team and wider business and ensure adherence to legislation and compliance to company policy.
  • Your leadership style will set an engaging and exemplary culture within the team.
  • Coordinate logistics, including dispatch and delivery activities.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity.
  • Regularly liaise with other departments to guarantee smooth operations.
ProfileThe successful Warehouse Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of Maidstone and be able to demonstrate the following experience:
  • Proven experience in warehouse management within the FMCG sector.
  • Ideally experience within a high SKU, multi-temperature environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage, develop and motivate a team.
  • Previous experience of managing change and driving for continuous improvement.
  • A forward thinking attitude towards managing successful warehouse operations.
