Sea / Ocean Freight Operations Agent - Temp initally, but possibly will go permanentOur client are looking for an Sea Freight Operations Agent to work within our expanding ocean and air team based near to the Maidstone area in Kent. Reporting in to the head of Field Sales, and working collaboratively with ocean and air products this core role will focus on identifying, sourcing, developing, enhancing and maximising new business opportunities to ensure we are supporting our business growth plan. In addition to this, we are looking for someone who understands the operational element of freight forwarding who can fulfil the following requirements: Main Responsibilities:- To clearly understand the demands of shipping hazardous goods via Sea Freight Import and Export whilst generating the relevant paperwork for consignments of this nature- Ensure timely bookings within sea freight forwarding on customers behalf- Prepare export documentation including data entry in accordance to the Countries requirements- Ongoing communication with customers within the UK and overseas offices regarding the movement of shipments - Preparation of certificates of origin, cargo manifest, customs clearance documentation, hazardous material and any other documentation required for the processing of goods internationally - Prepare export and import documentation and implementation in to our internal systemRaise spot quotations for both Ocean and Air freight forwarding whilst generating revenue for the business About you: - Dangerous Goods/ADR training highly desirable - Demonstrable experience within ocean and air freight forwarding - Team player with a collaborative approach and willing to share expertise - Strong commercial focus and acumen with strong influencing skills - Highly proactive self-starter with a high level of self-initiative- Proven experience in developing relationships with key stakeholders across all business units - A good understanding of customs clearance and brokerage processes - A good understanding of cross border shipping and incoterms - A knowledge of the shipping process surrounding Brexit and advantage but not mandatory Required skills
