Job Description

Your New roleHere at Highways England we are striving for excellence so if youre looking for a new opportunity to be part of a high performing team within a progressive organisation please see below!As a Network Planner you will be responsible for undertaking the development of regional resilience and contingency planning, including Emergency and Business Continuity plans, Winter and Severe Weather plans and Network Events plans.You will ensure best practice is adopted, proactively liaising with regional operations colleagues as well as key internal and external stakeholders to ensure Network availability is optimised and that the impact to customers of any planned or unplanned eventsis minimalised.What youll be leading on

  • Assist with the Development and implementation of Regional Resilience and Continuity plans
  • Assist with the management and development of Severe Weather planning, ensuring a high level of support to operational colleagues.
  • Identify and resolve any closure or diversion route conflicts in line with existing procedures, escalating any issues which cannot be addressed.
  • implement continuous improvement initiatives within own area of responsibility.
  • Understanding of customer satisfaction drivers
  • Health and safety legislation, regulations, working practices and procedures
To be Successful
  • Experience of winter or emergency / contingency planning
  • Previous experience in highway maintenance and/or technical administration
  • Good communications skills
  • Data and information management and distribution
  • Proficiency in a range of office software products to enable production / maintenance of documents, spreadsheets and management reports
