Job Description

My client is looking for commercially astute Management Accountant / Project Accountant to join its finance function. This is a permanent role to initially cover the Finance Director and Finance Manager whilst they spend time on a replacement business systemimplementation project which is likely to last 12 to 18 months.My clients business activities include civil engineering, property investment & development, design & build contracting, plant hire and quarrying.Working directly with the Group Chief Financial Officer, responsibilities include:

Maintain a standard costing system in aggregates and concrete
Assist and improve the quarterly forecasting, budgets and business plans
Assist and improve the analysis of sales and cost trends within the business, making recommendations to improve profitability/processes
Assist in the development of new reports in COINS using COINS own reports, Excel, Power Bi and possibly Jet
Automate and improve existing reports via Excel
Financial planning and analysis
Assist with the production of the management and statutory accounts
Ad hoc projects

Experience & Skills:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
KEY experience includes:
- Management and statutory accounting
- Finance project management
- Excellent IT / technology skills
Experience of working in a large organisation that offers a range of services
Excellent communicator
Ability to build relationships across the business
Organised and motivated
Highly numerate
Inquisitive mind
Willing and able to influence decisions
Willing and able to improve profitability through reporting, analysis, observation, conversation
Ambitious and driven
Experience of COINS is desirable but not essential
